Everything Under This Roof

Todo bajo este mismo techo

Fr. Álvaro shares the early highlights of our new school year — a nearly finished roof, a retreat that drew more than a hundred women, and the return of the Aquinas Golf Tournament after fifteen years. Registration details for this fall’s Walking With Purpose Bible studies, in English and Spanish, are inside.

Dear parishioners,

I hope everyone has settled in after the first couple weeks of school. Our new roof is almost complete, and we are off to a great start. I would like to share some of the early highlights of this academic year.

First, I would like to share with you the highly successful retreat organized by our incredible Walking With Purpose parish leaders. Over 100 women participated. Luly Fernandez, a native of Mexico, gave reflections in both English and Spanish.

Look out for registration details in the coming weeks for our Walking with Purpose Women’s Bible Study, which begins in September.

This year, we will offer two Bible studies, including one in Spanish. There will be options on Tuesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. and on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m.

The studies will meet weekly for 22 weeks, offering women in our parish a wonderful opportunity to grow deeper in their faith, encounter Christ through Scripture, and be spiritually nourished through fellowship and sisterhood.

Another great event was the Aquinas Golf Tournament. It was the first one in over 15 years. It took place at the Old Hickory Golf Course, with over 80 golfers participating. It was a fantastic way to build relationships and continue promoting our regional school. I hope that we continue to grow in participation this year. The tournament was certainly a success, and I’m glad I was able to attend, even though I’m not a golfer. I had a lot of fun on the putting green with many players who were driving by. I would like to thank all of our sponsors and the staff who helped prepare for the event under the leadership of Mrs. Katie Benjamin, the Aquinas Director of Development.

God bless you!

Fr. Álvaro
