Dear Parishioners,
Join me in praying to the Lord in gratitude for the gift of Pope Leo XIV. Now is the time to deepen our prayers for the Pope’s ministry, to be comforted by the maternal protection of Our Lady, Mother of the Church and Mother of Hope. It is God’s providence that on this Sunday of the Good Shepherd we celebrate the gift of the 267th Pope. It is also Mother’s Day in the United States of America, the birthplace of Pope Leo.
O God, who in your providential design willed that your Church be built upon blessed Peter, whom you set over the other Apostles, look with favor, we pray, on Leo, our Pope and grant that he, whom you have made Peter’s successor, may be for your people a visible source and foundation of unity in faith and of communion.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.

Únanse a mí en la oración de gratitud al Señor por el don del Papa León XIV. Ahora es el momento de profundizar nuestras oraciones por el ministerio del Papa, para ser confortados por la protección maternal de Nuestra Señora, Madre de la Iglesia y Madre de la Esperanza. Es providencia de Dios que en este Domingo del Buen Pastor celebremos el don del 267º Papa. También es el Día de la Madre en los Estados Unidos de América, país natal del Papa León.
Oh Dios, que en tu designio providencial quisiste que tu Iglesia se edificara sobre el bienaventurado Pedro, a quien pusiste por encima de los demás Apóstoles, mira con favor, te rogamos, a León, nuestro Papa y haz que él, a quien has hecho sucesor de Pedro, sea para tu pueblo fuente y fundamento visible de unidad en la fe y de comunión.
Por nuestro Señor Jesucristo, tu Hijo
que vive y reina contigo en la unidad del Espíritu Santo, Dios, por los siglos de los siglos.
