3 DCJM IN FORMATION WILL PROFESS VOWS
Our Superior general has just informed us that three novices will make their first profession of vows on Saturday, June 12, Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Please pray for Leonardo Bastidas, José Luis Montesino-Espartero and Joe Paolucci. It is an international novitiate! Leonardo is from Venezuela, Jose Luis is from Spain and Joe is from Colorado.
As religious we profess the evangelical counsels of poverty, chasti- ty, and obedience. Through them, the Disciple gives himself fully to the service of God and his Church to build His Kingdom. Lived fully, the vows contribute to the purification of the heart and the freedom of the children of God.
Our novitiate lasts two years. During this time, the novice is introduced into religious life and specifically the spirituality of the Disciples. They participate in three major activities: a month of Hospitals to acquire the virtue of service and to recognize Christ in the suffering; a month of Spiritual Exercises to acquire internal knowledge of Christ; a month of Pilgrimages to strength- en their love for Christ and to conform themselves with Christ’s virtue of trust and detachment.
3 DISCÍPULOS EN FORMACIÓN PROFESARÁN VOTOS
El Superior general de los DCJM acaba de anunciar que tres novicios – Leonardo Bastidas, José Luis Montesino-Espartero y Joe Paolucci – profesarán sus primeros votos el 12 de junio, Fies- ta del Inmaculado Corazón de Maria. Leonardo es originario de Venezuela, José Luis de España y Joe de Colorado. Ellos se en- comiendan a las oraciones de nuestra parroquia.
Como religiosos profesamos los consejos evangélicos – pobreza, castidad, y obediencia. Por medio de ellos, el Discípulo entrega su vida enteramente al servicio de Dios y de la Iglesia para la edificación del Reino. Vividos plenamente contribuyen a la purificación del corazón y a la libertad de los hijos de Dios. Nuestro noviciado dura dos años. En ese tiempo, el novicio es introducido en la vida religiosa y en concreto en la espirituali- dad del Instituto. Participan en tres prácticas mayores: un mes de Hospitales para adquirir las virtudes propias del servicio y reconocer a Cristo en los más sufrientes; un mes de Ejercicios para alcanzar un conocimiento interno de Cristo; y un mes de Peregrinaciones para robustecer su amor a Cristo y conformarse
