Dear Parishioners,
As Catholics, we always enter the new year through the door of a great feast: the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, on January 1. This Sunday, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Epiphany, when Christ was revealed to the world. The Three Wise Men traveled from far away to worship Christ and offer him gifts. I am happy to announce some good news for our parish: We have a new logo!
I have thought a lot about this over the last few months after hearing some ideas from random conversations that weren’t intended for designing a new logo. This was in the context of our ongoing preparations for our parish’s 70th anniversary in 2029. I discovered that the current rosette-stained glass window over the narthex was made possible by the Knights of Columbus. It is a beautiful, colorful image of Our Lady of Angels. After careful and prayerful consideration, I asked our bulletin editor to design a new logo inspired by the stained glass. The result is what you see on this page.
The logo includes the name of our parish and the year we officially formed, 1959, although the first Mass in our neighborhood was celebrated in 1956. I hope you like the logo and see it as a small but visible result of our rejuvenation efforts. We will incorporate the new logo into our bulletin, website, letterhead, and all other materials as soon as possible.

Solemnidad de la Epifanía del Señor
Queridos feligreses:
Como católicos, siempre entramos en el nuevo año a través de la puerta de una gran fiesta: la solemnidad de María, Madre de Dios, el 1 de enero. Este domingo celebramos la solemnidad de la Epifanía, cuando Cristo se reveló al mundo. Los Reyes Magos viajaron desde muy lejos para adorar a Cristo y ofrecerle regalos. Me complace anunciar una buena noticia para nuestra parroquia: ¡tenemos un nuevo logotipo!
He pensado mucho en ello durante los últimos meses, después de escuchar algunas ideas en conversaciones casuales que no tenían como objetivo el diseño de un nuevo logotipo. Esto fue en el contexto de los preparativos en curso para el 70.º aniversario de nuestra parroquia en 2029. Descubrí que la actual vidriera con rosetón situada sobre el nártex fue posible gracias a los Caballeros de Colón. Es una imagen preciosa y colorida de Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles. Tras una cuidadosa reflexión y oración, le pedí al editor de nuestro boletín que diseñara un nuevo logotipo inspirado en la vidriera. El resultado es el que ven en esta página.
El logo incluye también el nombre de la parroquia y el año en que nos constituimos oficialmente (1959), aunque la primera misa en nuestro barrio se celebró en 1956. Espero que les guste y que lo vean como otro pequeño fruto visible de nuestros esfuerzos de rejuvenecimiento. Incorporaremos el nuevo logotipo a nuestro boletín, sitio web, membretes y todos los demás materiales lo antes posible.
